Official Statement - Weld County Gun Rights Sanctuary Declaration

At the Weld County Board of County Commissioners Meeting on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019, the five Commissioners voted unanimously to pass a resolution supporting Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams’ refusal to enforce unconstitutional laws. Additionally, this resolution states that no County funds will be allocated to the building, acquisition, or purchase of storage facilities to enforce the unconstitutional HB 19-1177.

Official Statement - Weld County Commissioners Possible Gun Rights Sanctuary Declaration

Weld County Commissioners know how to push some buttons of state lawmakers. With the probable passage of HB 19-1177, commonly referred to as the “Red Flag Gun Bill,” several counties throughout the state have been working to pass resolutions declaring their county a Sanctuary for Gun Rights. At this point, Fremont and Custer Counties have passed such resolutions. At the Weld County Commissioners Meeting on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019, Weld County Commissioners will discuss a resolution similar to the ones passed in Fremont and Custer Counties.

Official Statement - SB19-181 Protect Public Welfare Oil & Gas Operations Bill

Colorado Senate Bill 19-181 “Protect Public Welfare Oil and Gas Operations” was introduced on March 1st, 2019. This Bill grants more local control to counties and municipalities to determine what oil & gas exploration is allowed. Bill Sponsors have stated that this legislation takes the advantage from the industry and places it on the environment and public safety, health, and welfare.

Official Statement - SB19-1032 Comprehensive Human Sexuality Education

Comprehensive Human Sexuality Education, Colorado House Bill 19-1032, clarifies the curriculum allowable for Sex Ed in Colorado Public Schools. This Bill requires public schools to use graphic sexual intimacy displays, promote abortion as a normal form of birth control, bans certain uses of male and female pronouns.  Additionally, this Bill limits parents’ ability to opt their children out of such graphic courses.

Official Statmeent - SB19-092 Emissions Inspection Check Engine Light

Colorado Senate Bill 19-092 “Emissions Inspection Check Engine Light,” introduced on January 23rd, 2019 passed the Senate on its third reading with no amendments. This bill has been introduced in the House and was assigned to Energy & Environment Committee. Senator John Cooke (R – SD13) and Senator Rachel Zenzinger (D – SD19) co-sponsored this Bill that allows vehicles with a “check engine” light that has been illuminated, to be allowed to test. Under current Colorado State Law, simply having an illuminated “check engine” light is an automatic fail.

Official Statement - SB19-042 "National Popular Vote"

Colorado Senate Bill 19-042 “National Popular Vote” was passed by the Colorado State House, last week and is now awaiting Governor Polis’ signature, essentially allowing the voice of Coloradans to be handed over to California, New York and other coastal elites. This Bill requires Colorado’s votes be carried with outcome of the national popular election results, rather than who the state of Colorado elects.

Official Statement -19-1777 "Red Flag Bill"

Colorado House Bill 19-1177 “Extreme Risk Protection Orders” was introduced on Thursday, February 14th , 2019. This Bill allows for the family, household members, or law enforcement officers to seek an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) for those they feel pose a significant risk to self or others by having a firearm in their possession.
