We stand together united under the flag of the United States. After all the division and controversy surrounding what should be an American uniting moment, our National Anthem, it’s important to keep our focus on why we stand. We stand with respect and reverence, to freedom and those who fought and died to keep it. Freedom goes beyond political affiliation, or skin color, or gender. Freedom is for every American and should unite us all, even if it is just for 3 minutes during the anthem. We can at least take a few moments to honor that and give our flag the gratitude and respect it deserves. We stand together in our belief of Freedom of Speech and the right to protest peacefully, but politics has no place in these 3 minutes of our American moment, the National Anthem.
Thursday, Sept. 28th, noon (mountain time), where ever you are, stand for our National Anthem. Play the anthem on your phones, computers, etc., stop, and stand.
Dear Weld County,
Wow. Water, Water, Water, everywhere! Losing everything. Some lost their lives, most escaped with only their lives. Staying in shelters with nothing but the clothes on their back. No end in sight. Relying on nothing other than their determination to survive and the help of good Samaritans.
Times like this remind us how suddenly life can change and how fragile life can be, but also, how out of the devastation heroes emerge and inspire us all. Truly the American spirit.
The American spirit inspires us all. The American spirit knows no color or gender or political affiliation. Americans are tough. Americans are courageous. Americans not only survive, they rise up and thrive. We are simply and magnificently, Americans.
Weld County GOP is joining several other GOP county parties, so far Denver, Jefferson, Boulder, and Otero have set up donation sites to gather donations. We have set up a donation site in Weld County. Skip and Ida Carlson have very generously agreed to make their Farmers Insurance office in Greeley our collection point. In coordination with the other counties, transportation has already been lined out for these donations to be driven down to the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Once we have enough donations to fill a truck they will be shipped off to Houston.
Starting next Tuesday, September 5, donations can be dropped off:
Tuesday - Friday
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm
2990 W. 29th St.
After hours donation drop off: Call Ida at 970-396-9270
